Photovoltaic Inverter EMC Remediation: Key Considerations for Common-Mode Choke Selection

Conducted emissions in photovoltaic inverters often exceed limits in the 150kHz–30MHz band. Common-mode chokes are critical for compliance. Nanocrystalline materials, with their high permeability and broad frequency range, are the preferred solution for common-mode cores.

When selecting components, focus on three key parameters: initial permeability determines low-frequency suppression capability (recommend 80000μi level); saturation flux density defines DC bias resistance (nanocrystalline materials can reach 1.25T); and Curie temperature affects stability in high-temperature environments.

When installing, position the ferrite core as close as possible to the interference source and avoid crossing wires to minimize parasitic capacitance. Hangyu Magnetic Technology offers free sample testing and remediation support to customers.
